Fish and Wildlife Service estimated in 2009 that approximately 440,000 birds were killed each year by collisions with wind turbines. The massive expansion of wind power in the United States will likely result in the deaths of more than one million birds each year by 2030.

Important Open Space Bill needs your help!

Yesterday, Audubon CT, DEEP and CEQ negotiated compromise language yesterday that will remove a $100,000 fiscal note (cost estimate) that would otherwise have killed the proposal. Today, the bill is up for a vote in the Appropriations Committee. I've pasted some bullets about the bill below. Please call your lawmakers today!
