Coyote ALERT!
The coyote has been spotted in Vuecrest this week of August 4th, 2025. Unfortunately, a small dog was attacked on Vineyard Crest earlier this week around 7:45 am. The dog was on leash and the owners fought back. The dog was unharmed but startling for both the dog and the owners. Please be diligent with your pets. Coyotes have been in the neighborhood for years but this is the first time we've heard of one going after a leashed dog. Please report incidents directly to King County Animal Control, so they track any issues and respond as needed.

Summer is here and Vuecrest is looking beautiful with the seasonal plantings. We hope you enjoy the seasonal color and decorations!
The Landscape Committee works closely with our landscapers, Northwest Gardener to monitor irrigation and common area maintenance. We believe that the maintenance of our common areas is an important investment in our community.
Similarly each neighbor's efforts to keep their property maintained - lawns mowed, weed free and hedges trimmed to Protective Restrictions is not only important for compliance to our HOA CCRs but also it contributes to Vuecrest' s strong property values. Thank you for doing your part to keep your home looking its best.
If you have any questions you can reach the team at landscape@vuecrest.netmailto:landscape@vuecrest.net

The City of Bellevue does not allow vehicles to be parked on our streets longer than 24 hours (Bellevue Municipal Code 11.23.020) and parking over 24 hours is prohibited. Safety Matters, Mike Wittman, Committee Chair safety@vuecrest.netmailto:safety@vuecrest.net
Happy mid-summer all! Fortunately, it seems we've had a relatively safe and quiet year so far here in our community of Vuecrest and West Bellevue. We are truly blessed to live in such a convenient, view-oriented, walkable and high pride of ownership neighborhood in the heart of a vibrant, growing city.
A few reminders that may help to maintain personal safety and to avoid unwanted entry and solicitations follow. While it hasn't been overly hot this summer, remember to keep your doors shut and locked at night; if you don't have air conditioning, open windows only to the point that reaches the safety stop, which most windows have. Keep hedges and shrubs located near the house trimmed such that they don't provide hiding places for would-be burglars. Please don't leave small pets and children unattended in open areas of your yard. There have been multiple sightings of a rather large coyote prowling the neighborhood this summer, and the species is known to be aggressive at times in its hunt for food. If you are not expecting a visitor at any given time, you do not have to answer your doorbell or a knock at your door. Use "No Soliciting" signs if you prefer. Sometimes they help but often they don't. If you see a suspicious person wandering around or near your property, feel free to call 911 and report it.
Get to know your neighbors! If you plan to be gone for an extended period of time, let them know. If you need assistance with your waste bins, you can request that Republic Services retrieve them from and return them to the part of your driveway nearest your home, or ask a neighbor to help by placing them and returning them if you know you will be gone during pick-up time, or if you have personal difficulty in moving them. Stop your mail with the postal service for the period of time you may be gone.
Oh, and a friendly reminder to please keep your dog(s) on a leash or in a confined space (unable to roam the neighborhood). This is as much for your dog's safety as it is for the safety of other owner's pets. We have heard instances where smaller dogs have been threatened by larger, aggressive and off-leash dogs during routine dog-walking by some of our community dog-owners. Please, please do not allow your dogs to roam. This also often also leads to the need for others to clean up after them, if you get my "scoop".
Lastly, please be a good example to everyone by maintaining reasonable speeds and by honoring the stop signs at all intersections. Although the speed limit is 25, we feel that 20 is plenty and 15 is fine.
Enjoy what remains of our beautiful summer, and as always please contact
safety@vuecrest.netmailto:safety@vuecrest.net if you have any questions or concerns! Be Safe!

Trash/Recycle/Yard waste tote etiquette
Here's a few reminders regarding trash/recycle/yard waste tote etiquette in the Vuecrest community;
- Totes should be put out the day before collection and then pulled back in the day after collection
- Totes should be stored on your property in a place not visible from the street
- Place totes at or nearest the end of your driveway for collection only
- Secure all bin lids in the down position, especially the garbage bin to ensure lids are down and garbage is contained and helps keep birds and other critters from making a mess before collection
- Ask a neighbor to put your totes out or bring them in if you are planning to be out of town
- Never leave totes out on the street for an extended period of time
- Promptly clean-up any trash or other debris that may have occurred near your property during collection day
