Our council requested a state audit due to concerns about some prior employees. One of the issues flagged by the auditors has to do with bank depositions. We do not have a bank in town. The closest banks are approximately 20 miles away. The first auditor advised our treasurer to complete a daily deposit slip then physically deposit at the end of each week. The second auditor has told us that the deposits must be made daily, which is a significant hardship for us. Are you aware of any exception to the daily deposit requirement?
