[A picture containing text Description automatically generated]The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden is seeking nature-inspired poetry for a one-month Poetry Garden installation in the Rutherford Conservatory.
See attached for information on how to submit your poem for consideration.
The Poetry Garden is a component of Blue Poppy Day, a partner event brought to you by the City of Federal Way Arts Commission and the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden (RSBG). Blue Poppy Day is a collaboration with the City of Federal Way Arts Commission that celebrates artistic talent from Puget Sound, the connection between the complementary beauty of art and nature, and the blooming of two rare Himalayan Blue Poppy meadows at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden. Now in its 9th year, Blue Poppy Day attracts 2,500 visitors each year and includes 6 performances, a poetry garden, food trucks, and activities for families.

A note about COVID-19: The RSBG and City of Federal Way are closely monitoring updates from the CDC and local government about mandates protecting public health and safety. While we may cancel this year's event, we have not made a decision to do so at this juncture. In the event that we cancel and your poem was selected for 2020, your poem will be featured for 2021's Blue Poppy Day program. We will make a determination as to whether to carry on with 2020's Blue Poppy Day event no later than Friday, April 17. Please email Britt@RhodyGarden.orgmailto:Britt@RhodyGarden.org with any questions.
