A difficult day to observe at Bluff Point this morning. Dark skies and
breezy conditions made identifying birds flying out even more difficult
than usually is the case. Conservatively estimating roughly 350 warlers
leaving the hot corner. 17 species identified and counting. Highlights
included a Mourning Warbler, two or more Philadelphia Vireos, and the first
Ruby-crowned Kinglets of the season. Movement still very heavily dominated
by American Redstarts, this indicates many more warblers still to come
under the right conditions.
