Knot Yet II in Turkey

Email received recently from the Nordhavn 46 Knot Yet II:

Thanks for your email.  I have been in California since early October.  My
friend from California broke his heel while visiting us in Turkey and has
been on the couch with his foot elevated for three months.  He just began
walking last week and began physical therapy this week.  I'm selfishly
hoping he'll recover soon so that I can return to the home of my crew in
Thailand.  (In Northeastern Thailand, well away from the destruction from
the tsunami).

I've heard from several yachties who were in the Phuket area and all
survived the tsunami OK.  Not so the folks on land, of course.  What a
tragedy!

We had quite a year, doing the Eastern Med Yacht Rally, then traveling
rather quickly from Ashkelon to Istanbul to join the Black Sea Yacht

Rally.

That was a 65-day circumnavigation of the Black Sea, visiting all six
countries which border that Sea.  Total miles for the year were just under
3700.  That's a lot of hours at 7 knots!

We plan to return to the boat, which is on the Aegean coast of Turkey, at
the end of April.  Current plans are to cruise Greece, Croatia and Italy

and

perhaps winter near Rome.

Lots of text and photos are available at http://www.knotyet.com/,
if you have

time.

Cheers!
John
