Subject: Fair Trade Community Forum June 28 - Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP)
Join us for upcoming Trans Pacific Partnership trade agreement (TPP) activities in Tacoma, including a community Forum and Independence Rallies.
"Fair Trade not Free Trade"
Sat., June 28, 3-5 PM
Tacoma Public Library (Olympic Room)
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a massive new trade agreement that is being negotiated behind closed doors. While the public, the press, and until recently even Congress, do not have access to the negotiating texts, some 600 corporate lobbyists are at the table as trade advisors.
What's On the Table:
Food and other consumer product safety
Drug prices, access to medicine
"Buy American" policies needed to create green jobs and rebuild our economy
Wall Street oversight
Empowerment of corporations to attack environment and health safeguards
