Happy Thursday Municipal Practitioners! I am attaching for your review a link to the IMLA program scheduled for October in Lake Como, Italy. I participated in the Spain trip a year and a half ago and it was outstanding. Even if you are an employed municipal attorney, there may be some opportunities to have your city or town pay for the CLE and lodging and then you can pay for your own transportation. If you are even remotely interested in going, you need to complete and submit the application ASAP. These trips fill up very quickly. This is a comparative law program with the Italian equivalent of IMLA. I had the opportunity to present on the topic of excessive force and it was very interesting to see the response of our Spanish counterparts to these types of issues. IMLA did a magnificent job not just of the programming, but also in coordinating group meals, social events, and tours.
