QA testing for v3.3 starts NOW!

We're ready to begin QA testing on CollectionSpace v3.3, per Megan.

Since the changes in this release are narrowly focused, there are
relatively few QA test plans to complete:

http://wiki.collectionspace.org/display/collectionspace/Testing+Tasks+Release+3.3

If you can take even just one test plan, that be terrific.  The
longest plans are for the new Citation Authority and its advanced
search page; other plans are much shorter.

We're hoping to ideally have testing done over the next 2-1/2
calendar days: by Friday, July 5, with a contingency to finish by
mid-day on Monday, July 8, if needed.  (Note that Thursday, July 4, is
a US holiday.)

Aron

P.S. There's one more QA test plan soon to be added to that page,
covering the use of wildcards and anchor characters in autocomplete
searches on authority terms.  I'll let you know what that plan is
ready.

http://issues.collectionspace.org/browse/CSPACE-6076 filed, to note that QA
and Demo don't seem to be working properly on IE10. (I know, who grabs the
IE test anyhow, especially on a holiday weekend.)

Saving a new record leads to SWOD. Oddly, if I open QA in Chrome, the
record I tried to save is there, even though it's still SWOD'ing away in IE.

As per our standard policy, a bug in Tier 2 should not block a release, but
we might want to put a note on the demo landing page encouraging folks to
use Chrome, FF, or Safari.

Thanks for reporting this, Megan!

It's interesting that you observed identical behavior on Demo, as
well.  That system is still running Collectionspace v3.2, which was
released in mid-December 2012 (and which I see you also reflected in
the affected versions when filing this JIRA - thanks!).

In hindsight, it's not surprising that our testing of v3.2 didn't come
across this, as non-preview, non-server-bundled copies of IE 10 still
hadn't yet reached Windows users
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Explorer_10):

"A preview of IE10 for Windows 7 was made available for download in
November 2012.  On 26 February 2013, Internet Explorer 10 was made
available for download to all Windows 7 SP1 users."

As well, our 3.2 Testing Tasks page also mentions IE 9, not 10:
http://wiki.collectionspace.org/display/collectionspace/3.2+Testing+Tasks

For anyone who may wish to test this further, there's a note on
CSPACE-6076 about trying out IE 10's Compatibility Mode:
