The WHITE-TAILED KITE was still hanging around at Stratford Point
today - day 50!

From Chris Loscalzo, Christin Arnini, and Barney Bontecou:
09/19/10 - Westbrook/Clinton border, in the Menunketesuck River Marsh
(seen via kayak) -- 1 TRICOLORED HERON and 16 LITTLE BLUE HERONS (5
adults and 11 juveniles).

From Nancy Eaton:
09/19/10 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill Meadows -- (noon) 3 American Golden
Plovers, 2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper.

From Janet Mehmel:
09/19/10 - Guilford yard -- 8AM, new yard bird when I spotted an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER in a flower bed.

From  Jay Kaplan and Jamie Meyers:
09/19/10 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill Meadows -- American Golden Plover
and 2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers as previously reported. Also, American
Pipits in bare fields.
Windsor Boat Launch -- 6 Blue-winged Teal.

09/19/10 - East Granby, Greenstone Hollow Nature Preserve --
Philadelphia Vireo, Brown Thrasher, Lincoln's Sparrow, numerous Purple
Finches.

09/19/10 - South Windsor, Station 43, Newberry Rd section -- 3
American Pipits and a Lincoln's Sparrow.

09/19/10 - Wallingford, MacKenzie Reservoir -- 3:45 to 5:00 pm,
Wilson's Snipe located directly across from the handicapped fishing
ramp in short grassy mudflat area.  Also seen was 1 each Solitary
Sandpiper.
