for some time.  Built 2001Any one care to offer any opinions on its true value
relative to thenew builds out there. It's practicality as a sometime live
aboard. The cost needed to have it updated with current electronics etc.Is the
beam and draft going to largely discount it as a loop cruiser?
Jonah,
I doubt you could reproduce this boat for less than 2MIL US unless you plan to
build her yourself, and by this I mean with your own hands and little or no
outside labor. Beyond that the boat's worth what somebody is willing to pay
for it. This boat I believe is a smaller sister design to Wild Wing IV called
the Icebear.  While the listing lists the builder as Malcolm Tennant I believe
she was built by Dave Pagout  NZ who is now out of business.
Malcolm can confirm.
See more pictures and detail of the design here:
http://www.tennantdesign.co.nz/boatdesigns/97/Icebear.htm.

I've never see this boat personally, but my guess is that while she's a pretty
gal she may suffer from being a bit over weight. Once again confirm with
Malcolm.

This is a very highly recommended design for live aboard and extended
cruising. Could possibly out perform any production catamaran available-new or
used as a cruising platform. Appears well fitted out with everything you would
need to get started. She features the arched wing design to tame rough seas,
great accomodations and economical engine package. I would guess 12 knot
cruise with a 16 knot fast cruise. 20 knots is likely WOT. Bill Shuman (who
has posted here lately) is currently building a boat with basically the same
bottom but a little longer  B/L ratio and lighter construction.

Why would you update the electronics? The listing claims the owner just
installed a new nav package- may not be necessary.

I believe Dennis just brought Wild WingIV down to Fla via Ohio River-
Mississippi River route- maybe he will comment on the Great Circle route.

As always with a used boat- Buyer Beware. Find a good surveyor and hire a
buyers rep to do the deal, unless you are an expert.

Best of Luck,
Tim Askins
