Programs beside adult education line item to watch include the cut to job training, effecting adult and youth programs, and the following slated for elimination:
21st Century Community Learning Centers
Community Services Block Grant
Corporation for National and Community Service
Institute for Museum and Library Services

It's also noteworthy that SNAP is not mentioned, or did I miss it?

There is — unsurprisingly — no mention adult education in the education section, so we’ll have to wait until the full budget is released to see what is in store for us. But I encourage you to skim through the document and share with the list any cuts to programs important to you.

Hi All,
We should also be concerned about the elimination of the Community
Development Block Grant. In Baltimore city, local CBOs rely on them to help
with adult education. I am working to find out the impact on other programs.

Hi All,

We can add to this good list the potential elimination of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting as well as the National Endowment for the Arts and the Appalachian Commission all of which have helped with various adult literacy efforts at the local, state and national level.

Clearly once we assess the total list and impact the Coalition will want to mobilize its efforts to speak out against these cuts.

Hi All,
We should also be concerned about the elimination of the Community Development Block Grant. In Baltimore city, local CBOs rely on them to help with adult education. I am working to find out the impact on other programs.

There is — unsurprisingly — no mention adult education in the education section, so we’ll have to wait until the full budget is released to see what is in store for us. But I encourage you to skim through the document and share with the list any cuts to programs important to you.
