In Galveston itself (Galveston Yacht Basin) the fixed concrete piers did
fine.. the concrete finger piers did fine, the wooden piling/wooden finger
piers took it in the shorts... the metal roof did pretty well except for those
boats with towers that rammed through the roof in (my estimate) 12-15 foot
storm surge (I was not there!!!).
Most boats took it pretty bad.... I think the major cause was the dock lines
were not continuously adjusted to account for ever rising water... lines
pulled the boat under, snapped or pulled our the cleat...
