CCWC Members and Friends,
Please join us at the next Chambers-Clover Watershed Council meeting on Wednesday, October 8th, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Executive Conference Room at Lakewood City Hall, which is located at 6000 Main Street SW.
Meeting Focus: This meeting will focus on the marine nearshore in our watershed. Kristin Williamson, South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group, will speak about a habitat assessment being conducted between Point Defiance and the Nisqually River Estuary. The assessment, which is nearing completion, will serve as the basis for developing a restoration plan. Scott Hansen, Puget Creek Restoration Society, will then outline the special concerns about tree-cutting in sensitive nearshore restoration areas.
Field Trip: Join us on Friday, October 10th, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as we see some of our marine nearshore first-hand. Tour sites will include Chambers Bay, Titlow Lagoon and other sensitive sites. Please RSVP to Melissa by October 8th if you plan to attend.
CCWC Business: Mark your calendars for our annual retreat, which will be held Saturday, December 6th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. More information will be available soon.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about any of these events. We look forward to seeing you soon!
