Chris-
We adopted Ruffy, one of the rescues from North Dakota in October of 2011.
Just wanted to report we had to put her down on Tuesday 12/11/12.    We
think she was about 8 years old.    She started vomiting and after taking
her in to the vet, having xrays, and doing an exploratory surgery to check
for a blockage, she was not getting better.  There was no blockage and we
really are not sure of the cause.  She did have megaesophagus where
everything just sat there until she got sick.  Poor girl.  Anyway- I know
we made the right decision, but it is still a great loss for us.  She was a
wonderful well loved Newf and we like to think she got a great retirement
plan.  She got to learn what a treat was, what living inside was like,
swimming in the river, loved her walks, and running free in the woods up
north.  She even got to be naughty and stole a loaf of bread off of the
counter, and last year, a whole plate of Christmas cookies.  Anyway- Not
sure who I should notify, but thought I'd let someone know.  She got to
sleep on the futon up north and really was a great loving dog.  After
having had a Newf with bad hips and knees, it was delightful to see her move
so freely and actually run when called to come in from the woods up north.
She was a beautiful Landseer.  I have attached a picture.
Thanks for leading the pack,
Lynn & Harry Unger

Doris-

Thank you and I am sorry for your loss as well.  It is difficult to say
good bye, but we owe it to them to be free from pain.

Hope you enjoy the holidays as well.
