Come join us on Tuesday at 10:00 am in Keystone 102 for the final seminar in our series on the human dimensions of environmental change.  Dr. William McGuire of UW-Tacoma will give a talk entitled, "The Role of Voluntary Standards in China's Environmental Governance."

He will "discuss the relationship between China's economic development and its environmental challenges, with particular attention paid to the institutional problems that have prevented China from effectively enforcing its own environmental regulations. Then he will discuss what role voluntary industry standards might play in improving environmental outcomes in China, and offer some empirical evidence on the effect voluntary standards have on compliance with environmental regulations among a sample of manufacturing firms."

Hope to see you there!
