I'm gathering photos for the 2012 calendar, which will be available for
purchase in early September. If you are interested in having your boat appear
as a "Calendar Girl"please send me a good photo, or two or three. Because
these are commercially produced calendars, I need high resolution photos. Set
your camera on the highest jpeg setting available. Give me a bit of background
around the boat so I have space to put your name and boat details in there.
File size is important. More pixels means more information, means a clearer
image when printed and no pixilation. The photo should be "native" from your
camera. Please don't crop, fix, or tweak it, that's what I do. Many cameras
take pictures at 72 dpi, and at that setting it should be at least 26" x 18".
Pixel size should be somewhere in the range of 2050 x 1360. We print at 300
dpi, and if it doesn't fill an 8 1/2 x 11 we are very likely to lose quality.
I have magical ways of enlarging your image, so if the photo is smaller but
spectacular, send it anyway!
Please also send owner name (couples or single ownership) boat name, boat
maker, boat length, boat year, and location of the photo. Additional stuff is
okay too. if the photo was taken at the Statue of Liberty but your home port
is Louisiana, say that. (I've got a great one already with the Golden Gate
Bridge in the background, for March!)
Please e-mail the files to me. If the file is over 9 or 10 Mb go to
YouSendIt.com which allows you to send up to 100 megs free. (Please don't sign
up to pay, unless you want to use it for other things.) By sending your photo
you are under no obligation to buy a calendar, but you are giving me
permission to use your photo in the calendar. Since this is a project that I
do on my own time, please give me several days to respond after you send your
photos. I LOVE getting them, but can't always answer right away.
Ultimately there will be 12 "Calendar Girls" plus a cover, so I can use 13
good quality photos. However . . .  last time I did this I filled in blank
dates with other photos, and I may decide to have a slightly different layout
on some pages, like one featured boat, two additional. I want as many photos
as possible to be printed in the calendar, without making it into a total
collage.

SEND PICTURES!!!
