Launching the Rodney Goes Green program

On May 16th from 6:30pm – 8:30pm in celebration of “Puget Sound Starts Here” month Rodney Raccoon and The Boys & Girls Club of SPS Present the VIP Screening Premiere of the Rodney Goes Green video (Winner of The Puyallup River Film Festival)!

The purpose of this event is to have fun and bring the message of environmental sustainability directly to the youth and families in our community! The program is in honor of “Puget Sound Starts Here” month and will educate youth participants and their families on how their activities affect Puget Sound’s water quality and how their behaviors contribute to polluted runoff. The project integrates animation, video games and curriculum and can be very useful in educating our youth about the environment. During the closing reception youth who participated in the making of the Rodney Goes Green video will be honored with an award.

The launch of the Rodney Goes Green project will accomplish four main objectives:

  1. “Objective:” Educate the public on how their activities affect Puget Sound’s water quality and how their behaviors contribute to polluted runoff.
  2. “Objective:” Improve behaviors among Puget Sound residents to reduce polluted runoff
  3. “Objective:” Change individual’s behaviors to reduce their impact on Puget Sound
  4. “Objective:” Improve citizens understanding of polluted runoff
