Feb 19 night dockside exploration led by marine naturalists

Foss Waterway Seaport "Pier Peer" Night Adventure

Saturday - February 19, 2011

8:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Foss Waterway Seaport, 705 Dock Street, Tacoma, WA 98402

Fall in love with Puget Sound again, or for the first time! Join People For
Puget Sound and Foss Waterway Seaport naturalists out on the docks for a
night time adventure this Saturday.  We'll lower submersible lights into the
dark water to see the food web in action..giant marine worms, colorful sea
slugs, sea stars, larval fish, jelly fish and maybe even luminescent squids
darting by, or harbor seals swinging by for a snack.

This is education and exploration at its most exciting! After all critters
are returned to their watery home, we humans will retire to warm up with hot
cocoa and talk about what we've seen.

Event is free for Foss Waterway Seaport or People For Puget Sound members.
$10 event fee may be deducted from membership cost if you join the Seaport
that night.  Non-member adults, $10.

Advance reservations are required; space is limited. PLEASE RSVP to save
your spot. http://pugetsound.org/../forms/event_rsvp  <Visit

This is a family-friendly event but we advise parents not to bring children
under 8.  All children must be supervised by an adult.  Please dress for the
weather (and damp docks) and bring your own flashlights.  For more
information, contact Gabby Byrne mailto:gbyrne@pugetsound.org , (360)
