News about Larry Graf, the founder of Glacier Bay power catamarans,
as posted by Larry on the Glacier Bay forum a few days ago:
WoW news travels fast these days, to bad the details get mis-stated
with the speed. The guessing that's going on is somewhat comical. I'm
not sick, never attended the shoot-out in the Keys, Genmar did not
buy GB, and yes I do eat like a LINE BACKER, not sure I look like one.
However: there is some truth to the basic concept of changes at
Glacier Bay. We will be doing a press release soon but we're working
internally on some of the final details of the "deal" yet and wanted
to save the press release to tell the whole story. I also had a
family boat trip scheduled and was up in the Islands for the last 10
days over the 4th.
As it stands now I have relinquished my roll as President and status
as a full time employee, I had many options and this is one my board
was not keen on, but from a personal and family view it was what fit
best. I've had an intrust in developing much larger cats for some
years and this is a way that gives me the time to follow that dream
while still being supportive to Glacier Bay and its future growth. I
still have all my stock in Glacier Bay and plan to hold it.
My expectation is that the company will continue very much on the
same course its been on. The team is much deeper and stronger than
one guy, we have 175 employees and some of the industry's very best
in Engineering, Sales, Customer Service and Manufacturing. Also Im
still only 14 minutes away.
Hope the info helps
All the Best
