Very odd behaviour

I'm running a nightly snapshot:
OpenSCAD version 2022.04.18.ai11701 (git 110ca3288)

on Ubuntu MATE.

If I highlight the code, copy it, then click on another window, the
code in the OpenSCAD window disappears.

I can recover it with a ^Z.
