Some boats take 125V/50A service and others
take 125/250V/50A service! BIG DIFFERENCE!
They are NOT compatible!

Or use your Y adaptor to connect to twin 30amp.....right?
I ran a wire heavy enough to support a 50amp connection if I wanted to
rewire my connector box at the end. Running the wire and conduit is the

hard

part. Having the heavier wire also helps keep the voltage up at the end.

So if his boat only needs a single 30amp, he has it. It also can provide
shore power for twin 30 or single 50 (Y adapter needed).

You need a larger box...many of our boats take 50amp service!
