Feb 21. Living the Permaculture Dream, private Straw Bale home in Yelm
Experience the forest gardens of Elona Kafton & Ralph Davis and the
beautiful straw bale home built with lumber hewn from their 20 acres of
old Weyerhaeuser Land. Please inquire about overnight accommodations if
you would like to attend both Saturday & Sunday.
Sustainable Homes & Garden Workshops provide you with skills and
information needed to turn your own property into a sustainable
wonderland, an environment that invites wildlife and provides food for
friends, family, and neighbors. Please be prepared to pitch in to share
work on homes and gardens, bringing • a food dish to share and a packet
of seeds to exchange; • scissors & Paper Bags for nettle harvest; •
gardening or work gloves; • hats and clothing appropriate for the
weather; • waterproof or rubber boots; • your favorite field guides on
herbalism, gardening, permaculture, etc.

Feb 22. Deep Ecology: Forestry and Wetlands, same location
No prerequisite, although the workshop flows from lessons learned during
yesterday’s workshop at Elona & Ralph’s land, and delves deep into their
literally unique wetlands and certified sustainable forestry practices.

Mar 15. Permaculture for Neighborhoods, private homes in Parkland
This workshop shows that people of modest means, living in working class
city neighborhoods, can create smart permaculture designs on matchbook
lots, with benefits radiating all around. The workshop is based at the
120th Street Ecohouse, an intentional community of 9+ members, and it
showcases water-saving features, several types of gardens, unique
tiny-house living options, and more.
Cost & Registration
Sign up for one, two, or three of the workshops described above! Our
weekend workshops are designed for adults, but youth are also welcome to
register with an enrolled parent or guardian.
• $65 the first time you attend one of Wolfcamp's Sustainable Homes &
Gardens workshops;
• $60 for a second friend/family member, or the second time you attend,
and if you attended our Climate Class.
• $55 for a third friend/family member, or the third time you attend one
of our Sustainable H&G Series Workshops;
• $50 for a fourth friend/family member, or the fourth time you attend a
Sustainable H&G Series Workshop;
• $45 if you hold a Permaculture Design Certification, for children too
young to benefit from instruction, and for continuing attendances from
your fifth time on.
