Bob, all other things being equal with 4' longer hull length, you would have a much better hull fineness so better performance particularly at displacement speeds, and no real loss in stability. The fact is though as boats get longer hulls usually get wider, and layers of decks and flybridge go up, so more beam is needed for stability and less wave interaction. Pat
