8/19  Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center.  9:40am-1PM.  sunny, low
tide rising, 82F.
We are open to the public again, since summer camp is over.  The center was
packed with visitors-some local, some from Ohio, Virginia.  We have a new
resident- Alice the Bearded dragon which was given to us.
Viewed from inside the building looking over the marsh:
3 juvenile Yellow crowned night herons, 1 Great blue heron, Snowy Egrets,
Great egrets,  9 mallards, 2 American black ducks, 1 D.C. Cormorant,  a
Ring billed gull with a crab in its bill getting chased by numerous other
gulls, our Osprey family,  and a flock of about 12 Black bellied plovers
and about 20 Semipalmated Plovers flew in around 12:55pm.
On the grounds & feeders:  5 Mourning doves at the water fountain,  a
Catbird,  Cardinals, 2 Robins, 1 Blue jay, 3 House finches, an American
Goldfinch and 1 Ruby throated hummingbird.
