Dear Colleagues, As we look forward to Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, September 23-29, here are a few updates. - The AEFL Week resource page on the NCL website has been updated. If you have resources or links that we haven't listed, be sure to let me know! - The fall 2018 Members' Meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 26, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM in Washington, DC (exact location to be confirmed). Our discussion in the afternoon will focus in part on ways of working effectively with the incoming (116th) Congress. We hope that you will be able to attend, either in person or by phone. I'll send out the agenda and call-in information when these are confirmed. - The 2018 Literacy Leadership Awards event will take place on Tuesday, September 25, 4:00-6:00 PM in Room 340 of the Cannon House Office Building. All are welcome to join us at this event that recognizes those who have made a significant difference to the field of adult literacy. In addition to the Literacy Leadership Awards, this year we will be awarding the first ever Barbara Bush Lifetime Achievement in Adult Literacy Award.
