Hello All Stations,

Very happy to share we just completed our first ICW voyage from Sandwich MA to Stuart to Ft Myers north to Bradenton south to Marco (warm and sunny in February!) to Marathon for the U-turn home. Traveling the ICW is better marked then Interstate 95 thru Washington DC. You can never get lost but it is possible to run out of water in areas but only a few. Just take it slow.

From Georgetown to Charleston the journey is lovely. Taking that turn from Winyah Bay into ICW is amazingly beautiful. Waterway flanked by rice fields and wide marshes. Much of the only sign of life from Georgetown to Charleston is nature. As slow as it may go in some areas it's worth the journey. No other way to get there.

Many thanks to this list serve for all of your knowledge. Waterway Guide, ActiveCaptain, MarinaLife, BoatUS are all good resources and membership offers discounts in many of the marinas we docked. Maybe next ICW travel will include overnights on the anchor.

Fair winds mates,
Ann

Sandwich MA
