Hello Dawgs: For those who have already signed up for our Main Event next month, I hope that you are ready for the rumble, fun, and agony that come with this exciting event. The captains (Marcus Walker Allen - aka HL Gladiator and Murali Adimoolam (aka "Matrix" or "Neo") will begin the team selection process in the coming weeks. For this year, the new team members of each respected team will be selected by the two captains for the next two years. It doesn't matter what team you end up with, the competition under Ryder Cup's format will be fierce and competitive as always. I have gathered the competition records of the Road Dawgs' Ryder Cup for the past four years and, if you are interested in knowing your personal statistics, please email me your request. As of now, we have a full 32 players committed to play the RC event next month, there will be two Dawgs that will be playing the RC for the first time. Maybe we can ask these two RC rookies to carry the teams' flag before the beginning of the event on Thursday, August 19th. Let me re-phrase one of my favorite quotes from the movie Gladiator, "For Those Who About To Die, We Salute You" or "Ave Imperator, morituri te salutant" in Latin. In addition to the 32 committed players, we have 2 or maybe 3 players on the waiting list for the RC. If we could find one or two more players, we can add another foursome to the RC roster. Therefore, if you haven't signed up yet but still have the itch, this is a great opportunity to sign up through our website. I am working with our partners for the meal choice for our dinner @ Mission Club GC on Friday night (8/20/21) and, thanks to the two team captains, the complimentary lunch choices at La Purisima on Thursday (8/19/21) at La Purisima GC after the morning round.
