Would appreciate suggestions - my Norcold DE-560 refrigerator needs a new compressor assembly. Repair cost is estimated at $650 plus. The replacement Norcold is a DE-461 (6.3 cu ft) and it will run about $1,000. I am trying to figure out why the Norcold is so expensive. I am wondering if it would pay to buy a regular residential refrigerator and an inverter. The dimensions of the place the refrigerator has to fit measures about (HxWxD) 53''x23''x25''. I am having difficulty finding same size residential refrigerator. I found a Sanyo SR-952 for $284. Not sure if I need a marine product. Would appreciate suggestions.
