National Coalition for Literacy Discussion List
View all threadsHi everyone,
I wanted to share a new advocacy toolkit that ProLiteracy released: Advocacy Toolkit for Adult Education and Literacyhttps://www.proliteracy.org/What-We-Do/Advocacy. The toolkit focuses on using the PIAAC state and county estimates to advocate with all stakeholders. It includes sections that emphasize both remote/virtual advocacy and advocacy efforts at the state and county levels-both areas that will be especially important in the coming year. The toolkit aims to help adult educators use important data to make persuasive arguments for investing in adult education and literacy as way to provide economic relief and recovery for out-of-work Americans.
The toolkit was written by Jackie Taylor with contributions from David Rosen and many advocacy experts across the U.S. While it is a large document that covers advocacy on all levels-and for those experienced and non-experienced persons interested in taking action-it is designed for readers to also use the portions most relevant to their advocacy needs.
Webinars around the toolkit are planned for this fall.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Best,
Michele
