Hey Tacoma,Are you ready for a bit of artsy fun on the water?You're invited to join the first-ever Grit City Costume Paddle!From 11am-1pm Oct. 31, you're welcome to get into costume, bring a paddleboard, kayak or other human-powered craft and put in anywhere along the Thea Foss Waterway to paddle around in a safe, socially-distanced manner. At noon, you might want to be somewhere under the 11th St. Bridge for the group photo (stay 6 ft apart).If you are taking exercise along the Foss, it'll be fun to watch - but please, stay 6 ft apart and wear masks. Do not gather. It's not an event.It's the perfect kickoff to a pandemic Halloween. PLUS: Online photo contest! Snap a pic of yourself in costume with your board/kayak and upload to social media with #gritcitypaddle. Or email to info@tacomaoceanfest.org. PRIZES include swag from Tacoma Ocean Fest, 253Heart and the Foss Waterway Seaport! CATEGORIES: Most Artsy (your favorite dead artist, maybe?), Best Ocean Animal and Spookiest.
