I believe in the 'life-sling" recovery system.
Nothing to throw close to the person-overboard. Deploy it, circle the
overboard person, he grabs it, engine in neutral, bring him over close by and
use a simple 4 way block and tackle already in place ready to go to hoist the
person back on board. An electric winch off the mast can also work easily.
In any case if the person in the water is unconscious nothing will
work unless someone else goes in the water to assist...
A search on "life sling.com" will get you all the details needed and
places to purchase the system for less than $100.00.
This system is endorsed by USCG, CCA and most sailing organizations.
