Official Counter: Calvin Brennan

Observers:        Charlene Borchers, Chuck Owens, Don Sherwood, Jeff Schultz

Visitors:
Anne Hanft
Saul Hanft
Gloria Harkness
Ron Harkness

Weather:
Today saw mostly sunny conditions prevail but with plenty of clouds as a
backdrop on which to detect high flyers. Winds were light to moderate from
the west-northwest.

Raptor Observations:
The flight was an improvement over the first two days but still modest in
comparison to days to come. After a slow start, there was a more or less
steady trickle of birds until mid afternoon when the movement dropped off.

Non-raptor Observations:
Of particular note today was the considerable hummingbird migration that
took place. A rough estimate from most of the day coupled with a concerted
effort to take a count during the last two hours yielded a conservative
tally of 211 hummingbirds for the day. Undoubtedly several times that
number passed through undetected.
