When I tried turning the
rudder with the hand tiller, it wouldn't turn. I presumed that in order to
use the hand tiller I will need to disconnect the hydraulic ram. Is that
true, or can I simply depressurize the hydraulic system? In other words, if
Choice one: have bypass valves installed.
Allows the fluid to travel between both sides of the
ram. Since I am seem to unable to do fuel
plumbing work without creating a leak, someone
more skilled then me should tell you how to
install one without leaking!
Two: Or you need a mechanical disconnect between the
rudder and the ram.
Nordhavn uses the valve approach, which is the
easier ansd fast method, but costs more to install.
