Invitation and Situation update from Weekly Volcano
You are all invited to the free Artists Reception for the Newspaper Box Challengehttps://www.facebook.com/share/1MnXcym5p3/ one week from today (Aug 21) at 7 pm at Court House Square (1102 A St, Tacoma WA 98402). We scheduled it during Tacoma Art Walk to encourage art lovers to come see all the lovely newspaper boxes while they are still all in one place and meet the wonderful artists who created them. This is by far the most beautiful collection of newspaper boxes anyone has ever seen!
Now, here is my request from you:
In order for Weekly Volcano to apply to become one of Tacoma's Newspapers of Record we need to get a periodical permit from the Post Office. Their rules say that 50% of our circulation must be paid subscribers so we are now offering home delivery for $22.75 per month. This means we will mail a fresh copy to your address every week. Since each issue has original art on the cover, each one is frame worthy and collectible!
This is a great option for anyone with a waiting room at their business too! Every Doctor and Dentist should have a copy of Weekly Volcano for their patients!
If the City of Tacoma names Weekly Volcano as a newspaper of record, then we can get paid to print legal notices and this will give us a stable income to keep the paper going no matter what the economy does. This means we can keep our mission of supporting the arts, local businesses, local music scene and local non-profits for years to come.
If you could inform the people on your email list of this opportunity I would greatly appreciate it. We need 1000 subscribers so I need everyone's help getting the word out! Thank you!
