Ladies & Gentlemen,
My municipality has an issue involving a car that was stolen in Oklahoma
City and reported as stolen. It apparently was later run thru a chop shop
and repainted along with some serial numbers removed, etc. The long and
short is that the engine and transmission are definitely the ones stolen and
belong to the guy in Oklahoma City. The remainder of the car appears to
also be his with about a 75% assurance factor but not 100%. The guy we
seized the car from says the engine and transmission are the original owners
but , the body is mine. Storage bills are quickly eating up the value. I
can't figure out what to do with this.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
