I use the camper style propane bottles on my exterior grill. I always disconnect the cylinder after each use. I wonder.. has anyone ever heard if the seal on these green cylinders has ever leaked?

We've been using 16 oz propane bottles extensively for 15 years, and by
that I mean constantly use them. We've yet to have a problem with leaks,
either at the bottle or at the stove. A couple of times we have had a
cylinder exhaust out of the pressure relief valve after we refill it, but
allowed to depressurize and both times stopped with no further problem.

Yes, they can leak. I used to keep some green 1-lb camping stove propane cylinders in my garage. The last time I tried to use one from my supply, it was empty. Probably 5+ years old. So if you store them on a boat, it must be outside the hull where any leakage will go overboard.
