Social Innovation in a Digital Context
What: Twelve social and digital innovators from the Middle East, North
Africa, and South Asia will present projects they have developed at Lund
University in Sweden.
Where*: * Kimmel Center 905/907 at New York University (New York City)
*When: *Thursday, September 25, 1:30-5 p.m.
*Cost: *Attendees will need to provide their own transportation and meals.
*Details: *“Social Innovation in a Digital Context” is a yearlong academic
program for social and digital innovators who are brought to Lund
University to develop projects that focus on the relationship between
digital technology and socio-political change. Their projects address a
wide range of issues, including reducing gender-based violence in India;
breaking down stereotypes and prejudice in Eastern Europe, as well as the
Middle East and North Africa region; creating an online platform for LGBTQI
issues in Egypt and Sudan; supporting online activists and human rights
advocates in Bangladesh; and addressing social change through media and
