TESOL International Association (TESOL) is
seeking applications for participation in a technical advisory group (TAG) to
assist with the development of a revised U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services
(USCIS) naturalization test. The TAG will meet on a regular basis in Washington,
DC, to ascertain that the educational materials and resources for the revised
test are developed at the correct educational level and are developed in a way
that meets the needs of immigrant learners and the organizations that serve them.

TAG
members will be expected to attend 6 three-day workshops in Washington, DC, over
the course of 12 months that will each require up to 8-16 hours
of both of pre- and post-meeting work.

TESOL expects
to hire a total of
6 TAG participants and identify 2-4 alternates. Successful candidates
will have expertise in the National Reporting System for Adult Education to be
able to revise test questions at the high beginner-low intermediate level for
non-native speakers of English. Desirable candidates will have expertise

social studies and/or political science;

The U.S. Department of Education's
National Reporting System for Adult Education (NRS)2;

In addition:

Candidates
must be a member of TESOL International; and

Candidates may not use any confidential
information gained through participation on the TAG or information not yet available
to the general public for financial gain (i.e. authoring textbooks for profit).
If selected, candidates must sign a non-disclosure agreement and a conflict of interest form to this effect.

In addition to compensation for the
three-day meetings and the pre- and post-meeting work, TESOL will cover travel,
lodging and meals for TAG members who do not live in the Washington, DC metro area.

The
