Rose has been working with a number of volunteers, both Debbie her foster mom and her family, and great folks like Lana who is a canine massage therapist who works with Rose to be more accepting of touch. Her foster mom write "I love this dog and want very badly for her to love me back." Even after months of dedicated foster care Rose still hides her face when spoken to, and curls up into a ball when people try to interact with her. When she was spayed, the vet needed to do an additional surgery to clean out and remove her deformed eye, because it had never been treated and was causing her pain and discomfort.
