colored pencils! In this class you will learn cold connection construction
to make a colorful hollow form pendant. First Glenda will show you how to
cut and form the copper sheet. Then you will learn how to add colorful
designs using colored pencils! After your design is applied you will learn
to attach it to a brass backing to create one-of-a kind pendant!

You will learn basic blacksmithing techniques with a variety of hands on
projects ranging from decorative to functional. Possible projects include
plant hangers, candlestick holders, fire pokers, decorative hooks and BBQ
skewers, just to name a few.  You'll even learn to make your own
blacksmithing tools! Mike will cover safety and operation of a gas forge
and all the tools, as well as basic hammering and heating techniques. Learn
how to determine what type of steel to select for your projects, ferrous
vs. non-ferrous metals, different types of steels and the pros and cons of
scrap steel sources.

setting. This class focuses on channel setting round faceted stones. You
will learn valuable skills in layout, burring, fitting, securing and
tightening stones while you work on setting cz's into a silver ring. Learn
how to create the seats for your stones using different burs. Glenda will
also show you how to make specialized tools to use for setting and
tightening the stones and polishing the setting.

If you love the look of bezel set stones and combined with the rich
textures you can achieve in precious metal clay then this class is for you!
Learn how to fit the bezel wire around the stone and fire the bezel into
place with the clay. Ruth will show you some important things to know about
this process of mixing a shrinking medium (PMC clay) with a non-shrinking
medium (silver bezel wire). Join us in this class to learn how to overcome
those problems and more! Once the silver clay is fired you will be able to
add a patina and set the stone. Leave the class with a beautiful new silver
pendant to wear!
