Hello,
I observed the Gambelli subspecies of White-crowned sparrow at the
feeding station along Ora Ave from 1:05-1:15am. Thank you Dori for
providing food for these vagrants and common birds. I also observed
two Fox Sparrows, a Common Redpoll and female Hairy Woodpecker
feasting at the station.

The Windsor-Bloomfield Landfill was very wind-swept and devoid of
numerous gulls. I estimate less than 400 large gulls were present
throughout my 45 minute stay from 9:30 to 10:15am. Westhersfield Cove
was almost entirely frozen and also lacked many gulls. I visited East
Shore Park in New Haven without any luck on the Swallows or the
reported Orange-crowned Warbler from Saturday's CBC. A Palm Warbler
was the only half-hardy present.

Good birding,
E.J. Raynor
Fairfield, CT/soon to be Thibodaux, LA

For Roy:
East Haven-Ora ave 12:30-1:15
White-crowned Sparrow-1 Gambell's present on and off, seen best when
large number of sparrows were feeding. A Sharp-shinned Hawk
continuously flushed all feeder birds during my short stay.
