To All -
Another lovely night on the River. The wind was west northwest blowing 10
-15 mph [See attached plot of the wind speed off Sailflow Tappan Zee Light
14]. Race Committee Howie Rinehart, Dan Parietti, and Diane Deveau got
fooled when the north west wind switched more to the west, providing a
beautiful spinnaker run for the big boats, a jibe, and a tight spinnaker
reach to the eastern shore. What a great sight.
In the non-spinnaker class, Mabel Rose got a good start, smoked the fleet,
and won by more than three minutes on corrected time. Way to go! Karl said
he cleaned their hull, put Robin on the wheel, and that made all the
difference.
Next week is our last official Wednesday Night Race followed by the 2nd
annual Turkey Pursuit Race on September 9th.
See you on the water.
