Just got the latest unofficial word from some very official guys: My previous prediction for a July 21st opening of the Erie Canal still looks about right. Now that they can access the dams, they were able to double up on the work crews. They will try to beat that estimate but only time will tell. And Mother Nature likes to get her 2 cents in at the last moment too so your mileage may vary. Fred Tug 44
