I also have been looking for a kite for a power cat--I even contacted one of
the surf kite makers--not interested in a boat. My local sail maker doesn't
want to try it. There is definately a market--probably going from the
sailboard type of kite which are really quite controlable.
Foils: We raced a monhull which had asymetical dagger boards (both in the
same trunk--and we would tack the boards to always have lift. In doing the
Transpac, IOR gave us a 6 foot penality rating for the asymetical boards, so
we just glassed them together. The difference was minimal after we had
glassed the boards to give a symetrical board. The boat went on to sail
around the world twice and win many ocean races with the single dagger board.
