I reckon the cone version works correctly even when an offset is
needed:  you shear the hulled shape afterwards instead of translating
one of the end profiles in advance.

BTW, everyone, my post this morning was to share a possible new
technique for those interested in getting a precise design, and at the
same time to improve the code suggestion I posted a few weeks ago; I
realize the other technique, with a thin cube and thin cylinder hulled
together, works just fine in most circumstances.
