Colleagues,

Senators Brian Schatz (HI) and Lisa Murkowski (AK) will be introducing a bipartisan concurrent resolution in early December, recognizing the importance and significance of the 2020 Census and encouraging individuals, families, and households
across the United States to participate to ensure a complete and accurate count. This is an important statement recognizing that the Census is a nonpartisan matter and that an accurate count is a pivotal aspect of the founding principles of our nation.

The two Senators' goal is to have all senators cosponsor this resolution. So far Senators Susan Collins (ME), Gary Peters (MI), Dianne Feinstein (CA), and Maggie Hassan (NH) have agreed to cosponsor.

Please call or email your Senators to encourage them to cosponsor this resolution (text attached). You can find contact information at https://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Also, the National Coalition for Literacy has endorsed this resolution. If your organization would like to endorse, please contact Trelaine Ito:
