Shellfish Gardening!

Tuesday, May 21st, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Harbor History Museum, 4121 Harborview Drive, Gig Harbor

In this free workshop, learn the resources, tools, types and tips to placing and propagating a shellfish garden.

Teri King from Washington Sea Grant will review the water quality benefits, biology of shellfish and resources available. Jennifer Hopper, outreach coordinator for Taylor Shellfish will discuss what to know before you plant, site evaluation and growing methods and the different shellfish varieties available and how to select species that will thrive.  We will also cover questions on future learning opportunities  - and why all the focus on shellfish.
