An update on the progress of the 5 USMA graduates that departed Dana Point a
month ago on their attempt to circumnavigate a 43' Nordhavn (Venture).
The group is off again, having left Hawaii on May 20th, bound for the
Marshall Islands. They hope to make landfall June 2nd. Additional
information is available on the USMA class of 57 web site:

At last report are in fact 5 crew for the remainder of the voyage, 4
departed Dana Point. Spirits are high and I hope to get more information as
it comes available. Much to my relief they haven't had to resort to
cannibalism as of yet, possibly because they caught a 30lb Dorado on
approach to Hawaii. I heard there may have been an "issue" with their
stabilizers but nothing that couldn't be remedied quickly in Hawaii. Nice
shake down cruise guys! Best of luck to all of you from all of us.

The cruise of the Venture will be especially interesting for us as they will
be coming to Brasil. We hope to encourage more adventurers to stop off
here. Will there traveling coordinates be updated as the Idlewild and
others? I have my google all set up to follow everyone that we see via PUP.
Thanks, Patrick and Monica Hightower
