The following announcement is directly pertinent to CollectionSpace,
because the system's reporting functionality is based on Jaspersoft's
JasperReports, and its associated iReport Designer product has been
the tool of choice for authoring these reports:

On October 29, 2013, Jaspersoft announced that:

"NOTE: As of version 5.5.0, Jaspersoft Studio will be the official
design client for JasperReports. iReport will remain as a supported
product in maintenance-only mode until December 31, 2015, meaning we
will continue to fix critical defects in upcoming releases but no new
features will be added to the iReport client. Continue to maintain
your existing reports with the new Jaspersoft Studio!"

This doesn't mean you will have to make any near-term changes to the
way you author reports for CollectionSpace, but I wanted to still
share this as an FYI.

Some perspective on Jaspersoft's deprecation of iReport Designer:
http://community.jaspersoft.com/questions/818199/ireport-designer-vs-jaspersoft-studio

"The idea is that in the future all the new features and future
developments will be available in Jaspersoft Studio. So it's better to
get in touch and start using it.

"iReport will continue to be supported but no new features, besides
the essentials [sic] support to the upcoming JR releases, will be
implemented. This is mostly because of its existing large users-base
and since it is the most popular report designer for JasperReports.
However the plan is to move people to the adoption of Jaspersoft
Studio."
